Bill overview
This bill creates tax credits for businesses in New Jersey that hire released nonviolent offenders. Businesses can receive a credit against their corporation business tax and gross income tax equal to 15% of the wages paid to these employees, up to a maximum of $900 per employee. The credits are subject to certain limitations and can be carried over for up to seven privilege periods. The bill also addresses how these credits apply to partnerships and S corporations.
