Bill overview
This bill prohibits the use of lead ammunition when hunting in New Jersey. It directs the Fish and Game Council to phase in restrictions that ultimately require the use of nonlead ammunition, defined as ammunition containing one percent or less lead, or that is federally approved as nonlead. The bill also mandates the council to create and maintain a list of certified nonlead ammunition products. Certain government officials are exempt from the restrictions.
