Overview
This bill, the Fairness for School Districts in Development Restricted Areas Act, provides additional state school funding to certain school districts located in municipalities within the Highlands or Pinelands preservation areas. These districts must have experienced a reduction in state aid compared to 2017-2018 and have over 500 residents. The amount of additional aid is calculated based on the number of acres within the municipality that are part of the preservation areas, with limits based on student enrollment.
