Overview
This bill allows state-recognized chambers of commerce, trade associations, and nonprofit business coalitions to form association health plans and multiple employer welfare arrangements (MEWAs). It provides a tax credit of up to $1,000 per employee per year for members of these plans. The bill also mandates a public awareness campaign and allocates funding for grants to support plan administration, and expands federal association health plan eligibility to be treated as a single employer for state law purposes.
