Overview
This bill allows New Jersey students receiving tuition aid grants or opportunity grants to use a portion of those awards to pay for courses taken during the summer session. Students must notify the relevant authority (Higher Education Student Assistance Authority or the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education) of their intention to use a portion of their grant, which will then adjust the amount disbursed during the academic year. The bill also requires annual reporting on student participation in summer courses and graduation rates.
