Overview
This bill expands the role of Class Three special law enforcement officers, who currently provide security in schools and county colleges, to include places of religious worship like churches and synagogues. It requires school districts that hire these officers for public schools to also provide them for nonpublic schools within the district. Furthermore, nonpublic schools can now enter into agreements with municipalities outside their location to secure officers. The school district is responsible for paying the municipality for these services.
