Overview
This bill aims to shorten the time inmates serving sentences must wait to become eligible for parole. It provides inmates participating in full-time substance abuse treatment programs with additional ‘earned time credits’ that will reduce their parole eligibility date. These credits are awarded at 1.5 times the amount of standard good-time credits earned during treatment. The law will take effect four months after it is enacted.
