Overview
This bill gives the Commissioner of Human Services temporary authority to pause certain NJ FamilyCare benefits that were created after January 1, 2024, except for essential services like primary care for adults, pediatric care for children, gynecological care, and behavioral health services. The Commissioner must provide 30 days’ notice to the Legislature before suspending any benefits, and will report biennially on the suspensions. This authority is dependent on continued federal funding for the Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Programs.
