Overview
This bill, the Hotel Franchisee Fairness and Market Access Act, aims to create a more balanced relationship between hotel franchisors and their franchisees in New Jersey. It restricts franchisors from forcing franchisees to buy specific goods or services unrelated to the guest experience and prevents penalties for refusing to do so. The bill also requires franchisors to be transparent about revenue sharing with vendors and prohibits them from unfairly limiting a franchisee’s ability to operate or sell rooms through third-party platforms.
