Bill overview
This bill creates a state income tax credit for employees who purchase workplace clothing required by their employer for safety or to perform their job duties. The credit is equal to the cost of the clothing, up to a maximum of $100 per year, and is refundable if it exceeds the amount of tax owed. The bill also establishes a definition of ‘workplace clothing’ to include items like boots, helmets, and protective eyewear. It takes effect on November 1, 2025.
