Bill overview
This bill prohibits the issuance of commercial driver licenses (CDLs) to individuals who have been convicted of certain serious crimes, specifically those involving the trafficking of illegal drugs or firearms. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (Service Oklahoma) will be required to verify an applicant’s criminal history to determine eligibility for a CDL. The bill also establishes an effective date and was passed by the Senate with a unanimous vote. Note: This bill was mistakenly submitted with the text of a different bill regarding pre-kindergarten toilet training.
