Bill overview
This bill aims to improve air traffic safety and efficiency by requiring the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to install certified Airborne Position Reference Tools at air traffic control towers. It also mandates the upgrade of existing Standard Terminal Automation Replacement Systems (STARS) at contract towers and establishes a training program for air traffic controllers using these new systems. Furthermore, the bill provides financial support for airports that have already purchased situational awareness equipment.
