Bill overview
Logan’s Law establishes a publicly accessible database, the Violent Criminal Offender Database, containing information on individuals with qualifying convictions – generally those involving physical force or a substantial risk of it. The database will include details such as name, address, and conviction type, and will be updated quarterly. The bill also directs the Department of Justice to report on and recommend improvements to data sharing practices between states and the federal government to better protect public safety.
