Bill overview
The PRICE Act aims to increase transparency and fairness in how third-party delivery platforms, like DoorDash and Uber Eats, charge customers. It requires these platforms to clearly display the retail price of items before adding delivery fees, and to use a consistent methodology for calculating those fees. The bill also establishes that delivery fees should be based solely on delivery distance and other legitimate delivery costs, preventing platforms from using customer data to dynamically adjust prices. Finally, it empowers the Federal Trade Commission and State attorneys general to enforce these rules.
