Bill overview
The Fighter Aircrew Career Flexibility Act establishes a pilot program to allow experienced Air Force fighter aircrew to take temporary, time-limited career intermissions. This program aims to assess whether such intermissions can reduce early departures and preserve skilled personnel for leadership and staff roles within the Air Force. Participants would be placed in the Individual Ready Reserve, and upon returning to active duty, they’d incur a longer Active Duty Service Commitment. The program’s effectiveness will be evaluated after five years, and its future will be determined based on the findings.
