Bill overview
The Retention Enhancements for Tactical Aircrew INitiative Act of 2026, or the RETAIN Act, aims to improve retention of aviation officers in the Air Force. Specifically, it increases the aviation incentive pay for officers with over eight years of service to the maximum amount, and expands a pilot program offering enhanced retention incentives. This includes greater flexibility in duty locations and the potential for a bonus of up to $100,000 for officers who agree to remain on active duty.
