Bill overview
This bill establishes the Southeast New England Program within the Environmental Protection Agency to protect and restore the coastal watersheds of Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts. The program will provide grants to various entities – including states, local governments, tribes, and nonprofits – to support projects aimed at improving water quality, restoring ecosystems, and enhancing the resilience of these watersheds. It also authorizes $30 million annually from 2027 to 2031 to fund these efforts.
