Overview
New Jersey Assembly Bill 5048 prohibits the sale, manufacture, and distribution of certain apparel and diaper products that contain intentionally added per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Starting two years after the bill’s enactment, manufacturers will need to certify that their products do not contain these chemicals. The bill also establishes penalties for violations, aligning with existing PFAS regulations.
