Bill overview
This bill allows construction companies, contractors, or subcontractors to sue other construction businesses for various wrongdoings, including wage theft, misclassification of employees, tax fraud, and violations of consumer protection laws. The suing party must provide 30 days’ notice to the defendant and the Department of Labor. If a plaintiff wins, the court can order the defendant to pay their attorneys’ fees and court costs, including expert witness fees.
