Overview
This bill increases the amount of paid leave New Jersey public employees can take while serving in the Reserve component of the United States Armed Forces. Currently, employees receive 30 days of paid leave, with additional time taken without pay. The bill changes this to 90 days of paid leave for federal active duty, followed by unpaid leave. The committee amendments clarify the bill's scope by including the Coast Guard Reserve and making technical updates.
