Bill overview
The PLUM Act of 2020 aims to modernize the way information about presidential appointees in the federal government is shared. It replaces the traditional ‘PLUM Book’ with a publicly accessible, searchable website maintained by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Agencies will be required to regularly update the website with details about policy and supporting positions, ensuring greater transparency and easier access to data on who holds key positions within the executive and legislative branches. The current PLUM Book publication will cease on January 1, 2024.
