Bill overview
The Integrity Committee Transparency Act of 2019 aims to increase transparency and accountability within the Council of Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE). It requires the council to provide more detailed information to Congress when requesting time extensions or closing allegations, as well as when allegations are closed without referral. The bill also mandates regular oral briefings for Congress on the Integrity Committee’s activities and expands the council’s membership to include former Inspectors General.
