Bill overview
This bill establishes the U.S. African-American Burial Grounds Network within the National Park Service. It aims to identify, document, preserve, and interpret historically significant African-American burial grounds across the country, many of which are currently unmarked, neglected, or unknown. The network will be developed through collaboration with various stakeholders, including descendant communities, and will provide training and resources for preservation efforts. Ultimately, the goal is to recognize and protect these vital sites as part of the nation’s heritage.
