Bill overview
This bill provides significant financial support to the U.S. Postal Service to help it recover from the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. It allocates $25 billion to the Postal Service Fund to cover lost revenue and $15 billion to the Office of Inspector General. The bill also mandates that the USPS prioritize the purchase and distribution of personal protective equipment and increase cleaning and sanitization efforts at its facilities and vehicles during the pandemic. Finally, it establishes requirements for the Inspector General to oversee the use of these funds and conduct regular audits.
