Bill overview
This bill requires the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to revoke certificates of public convenience and necessity for two natural gas projects – the Weymouth Compressor Station and the West Roxbury Lateral – located in Massachusetts. The revocation occurs until state agencies certify that these projects will not pose a danger to nearby communities. Specifically, the certification must be provided by the Secretary of the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, the State Fire Marshal, and the Director of the Massachusetts Pipeline Safety Division.
