Bill overview
This bill prohibits the use of U.S. government funds to support Russia’s participation in the Group of Seven (G7) economic forum or any attempt to reinstate Russia as a member of the Group of Eight. The bill’s provisions are contingent on certifications from the State Department and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) regarding Russia’s cessation of interference in foreign elections, ending its occupation of Ukrainian territories, and withdrawing support for Taliban-linked militants. These certifications must be made before the prohibition can be lifted.
