Bill overview
The Excellence in Recovery Housing Act aims to improve the quality and availability of recovery housing for individuals with substance use disorders. It directs the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to develop guidelines and standards for recovery housing, collaborate with accrediting entities, and establish a federal interagency working group to coordinate efforts. The bill also authorizes grants to states and tribes for implementing best practices and requires states to develop and publicly share plans for promoting high-quality recovery housing.
