Bill overview
The Dropbox Access Act of 2020 aims to improve access to absentee voting by requiring all states to provide a minimum number of secure drop boxes in each county for voters to submit their ballots. These drop boxes must be available for at least 45 days before an election, be accessible to people with disabilities, and be located in convenient areas, including urban, suburban, and rural communities, as well as Tribal lands. States must determine the number and placement of these boxes based on population density and accessibility.
