The NASH Care Act of 2020 aims to combat nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) by establishing a federal strategy for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. It reauthorizes and expands existing grant programs, supports research, and creates a national surveillance program. The bill also directs the National Academies of Sciences to study the policy and educational needs related to NASH and establishes a multidisciplinary task force to develop recommendations for addressing the condition.
