Bill overview
This bill, the Temporary Family Visitation Act, creates a new nonimmigrant visa category (B-3) allowing U.S. citizens and permanent residents to temporarily bring relatives – such as children, parents, or siblings – to the United States. To qualify, applicants must have a U.S. relative willing to provide an affidavit of support and obtain travel medical insurance. The period of stay is limited to 120 days, and the Department of State can waive certain requirements if it’s deemed to be in the public interest or to promote family unity.
