Bill overview
The Set Sail Safely Act establishes a Federal Maritime Task Force to develop a plan for the safe resumption of cruise operations and continued maritime travel in the United States during the COVID-19 public health emergency. This task force, comprised of representatives from various federal agencies and private sector stakeholders, will work together to create guidelines and protocols for passenger, crew, and worker safety. The act also creates a private sector advisory committee to provide recommendations to the task force on best practices and procedures for the cruise industry’s return.
