Bill overview
This bill requires the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to set a goal for how long it takes veterans to get an appointment for medical care, both when they receive care directly from the VA and through community care providers. The VA will also be required to publicly share data on average wait times for new and returning patients, broken down by location and medical specialty, to increase transparency and accountability. This aims to help veterans understand how long they might wait for appointments and to track the VA’s progress in improving access to care.
