This bill, the NIST COVID–19 Cybersecurity Act, directs the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to create and share resources to help colleges and nonprofit research institutions protect their cybersecurity when conducting research related to COVID-19. The goal is to reduce cybersecurity risks associated with this type of research by providing guidance and best practices. These resources will be developed in consultation with higher education institutions and research organizations.
