Bill overview
The Partners Act aims to expand access to mental health support by establishing a nationwide network of peer support warmlines. This network, managed by SAMHSA, will utilize a single toll-free number coordinated with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. The bill directs the creation of centers of excellence, staffed by qualified peer support specialists, to operate these warmlines, and mandates training and adherence to best practices identified through a study by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
