Bill overview
The TSA Second Screening Act aims to improve the passenger screening process at airports. Currently, if TSA officers find an object of concern during an initial screening, passengers are typically subjected to a physical inspection immediately. This bill would require TSA to offer passengers the option to undergo an advanced imaging screening – a ‘secondary screening’ – before a physical inspection is conducted. This would give passengers more transparency and control over the screening process.
