This bill, the Pedestrian and Bicyclist Safety Improvement Act of 2020, directs the Department of Transportation to conduct regular, nationwide assessments of pedestrian and bicycle safety in each state. These assessments will identify high-risk locations, examine barriers to safe access, and develop recommendations for improvement. The DOT will also create and maintain a national database of pedestrian and bicycle safety data, including accident details and implemented corrective measures.
