Bill overview
This bill, the Global Pandemic NIE Act of 2020, directs the Director of National Intelligence to produce a comprehensive assessment of the global threat posed by pandemics, including the potential course of the COVID-19 pandemic and future risks. It also requires the President to develop and publicly release a whole-of-government plan for responding to future pandemics and a global strategy for international cooperation in combating them. The findings and plans will be shared with Congress and the public, with a classified version provided to intelligence committees.
