Bill overview
The RASPP Act of 2020 directs the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to clarify and improve the national biodefense strategy and its implementation plan. Specifically, it requires HHS, in collaboration with the Biodefense Steering Committee, to document roles and responsibilities for information sharing, assess existing biodefense plans, and develop a resource plan for supporting these efforts. The bill also mandates a 90-day report to Congress outlining strategies for enhancing information sharing and data integration related to biosurveillance.
