Bill overview
The Tenant Protection Notification Act of 2020 requires the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to create and distribute a clear, easy-to-understand notice to tenants about the eviction moratorium established by the CARES Act. This notice will explain the moratorium’s terms and how it affects their tenancy. Additionally, landlords must also receive and provide this notice to their tenants, and the process is repeated if the moratorium is modified during the COVID-19 emergency.
