Bill overview
This bill, the Medicare Advantage COVID Treatment Act, ensures that Medicare Advantage plans cover COVID-19 treatment services without requiring cost-sharing during the public health emergency. It also requires the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to reimburse these plans for any cost-sharing they would have otherwise collected. Furthermore, the bill prohibits plans from imposing prior authorization or other utilization management requirements for critical COVID-19 treatments like ventilators and intensive care unit services.
