Bill overview
The Pandemic Rapid Response Act establishes the National Commission on the COVID-19 Pandemic to investigate the pandemic, evaluate preparedness, and recommend improvements to prevent future outbreaks. The commission will be composed of diverse members appointed by key congressional leaders and the President, and will avoid duplicating existing government efforts. It is tasked with compiling a national plan for responding to future pandemics and identifying lessons learned from the COVID-19 response, ultimately submitting a final report to the President and Congress.
