Bill overview
The Paid Sick Leave Credit Act of 2020 creates a tax credit for employers who provided paid sick leave to their employees under the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act. This credit is equal to 90% of the sick leave wages paid, minus any credits already taken. There are limits on the amount of wages that can be claimed for the credit, and any unused credit can be carried over to the next quarter. The bill also directs funds to Social Security trust funds to offset any revenue loss due to the credit.
