Bill overview
The REHAB Act of 2020 modifies the Rehabilitation Tax Credit to encourage the rehabilitation of buildings. It increases the credit rate to 15% for non-historic buildings placed in service 50 years ago and expands the credit to include buildings near public transportation, rental housing, and expansions on the same block. Additionally, it provides a 25% credit for rent-restricted housing and public infrastructure projects, and introduces reporting requirements for buildings not designated as historic.
