Bill overview
The Aviation-Impacted Communities Act aims to mitigate the noise impacts of commercial and cargo jet flights on communities located near airports. It expands funding for noise mitigation programs to communities currently outside the 65-day-night average sound level (DNL) standard, requires the FAA to conduct a comprehensive study of aviation impacts worldwide, and establishes community boards to address airport noise concerns. The bill also directs the FAA to engage with these communities, develop action plans, and provide grants for noise mitigation measures.
