Bill overview
This bill requires all air carriers operating single or multi-engine, turbine-powered helicopters with passenger seats and pilots to install flight data recorders and cockpit voice recorders. These recorders would need to meet the standards set by the Department of Transportation. The goal is to improve aviation safety by providing more data in the event of an accident or incident. The bill will take effect one year after it is passed.
