Bill overview
The Accelerating Kids’ Access to Care Act aims to make it easier for children and young adults to receive healthcare from providers outside of their state. It requires states to create a streamlined enrollment process for out-of-state healthcare providers who treat minors or individuals whose health issues began in childhood. These providers must have previously been screened for Medicare or the state’s Medicaid program and not be excluded from those programs. This change is intended to expand access to specialized care for young patients.
