Bill overview
This bill creates an Office of Territorial Exporting within the Export-Import Bank of the United States. The office will focus on promoting exports from Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and American Samoa. It will also provide outreach, education, and increased financial support to businesses in these territories through the Bank’s loans, guarantees, and insurance programs. Finally, the Bank will be required to report annually on its efforts to increase awareness and support for export businesses in these areas, and to consult with affected communities.
