Bill overview
This bill authorizes the U.S. Mint to produce and sell commemorative coins honoring Harriet Tubman’s legacy as an abolitionist. It will create $5 gold coins, $1 silver coins, and half-dollar clad coins, with all proceeds from the sale of these coins going to Project Legacy in Brooklyn, New York, to support its mission. The coins will be issued between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2022, and will feature designs emblematic of Tubman’s life and work.
