Bill overview
The Synthetic Opioid Danger Awareness Act directs the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to launch a public education campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of synthetic opioids, particularly fentanyl and its analogues. It also mandates the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to create a training guide for first responders and other at-risk individuals on how to prevent exposure to these substances. Finally, the bill requires the CDC to evaluate the campaign’s effectiveness and report on its progress to Congress.
