Bill overview
This bill authorizes the Department of the Interior to establish the January 8th National Memorial in Tucson, Arizona, as part of the National Park System. It directs the Tucson’s January 8th Memorial Foundation to transfer funds to Pima County for the memorial’s construction and operation, with the foundation ceasing operations upon completion. Pima County will then be responsible for managing the memorial’s construction, operation, and maintenance. The bill also requires the Secretary of the Interior to develop a management plan for the memorial.
